Announcements!

Hello Kindergartners and their parents!

We have been having a great week back! This week we've learned two new popcorn words, we've learned about subtraction, and we've worked on our writing. It's been a great time!

Ms. Paoli and Ms. Carroll would like to give some special recognition to some friends in our class because they oh-so-generously donated bee bucks today! As a class, we donated a total of 26 bee bucks! These amazing kids are: Rory, Violet, Amelia, Lukas, Kennedy, Finley, Bella, and Brendan. Thanks so much, friends, and keep up the great work.

Here are some notices for you to be aware of:

  • Please bring in soup cans (the cans, not the food) by Thursday for a special project!
  • Ms. Carroll's last day as our teacher is Thursday. The goodbye party, however, will be Friday the 12th of December. Please e-mail Ms. Paoli for more details.
  • We've been practicing songs for a special Holiday show! This show will be on Thursday the 18th at 1pm in the Gym here at school. Please arrive early to get a good seat- it fills up quickly!
  • Our Holiday Pajama party will be Friday the 19th of December! Parents, please e-mail Ms. Paoli to sign up to do some fun winter activities in the morning, and bring in some snacks for that afternoon. Please have your Kindergartner wear their pajamas under their snow clothes.
  • Just a friendly reminder, if you are a parent helper and you can't make it one day, please e-mail or call Ms. Paoli ahead of time! Once Ms. Carroll leaves, it will be harder to adjust plans for centers on the spot. Thanks for your time!
  • We are doing much better with popcorn words! Please keep practicing them at home as we added two more this week: See and said.
  • If you feel so inclined, please work with your children on writing small words. We are seeing great improvements in their handwriting, and this will help it further!
Hope you are having an excellent week, and see you tomorrow!

Updates!

Hello, Lewis and Clark Kidnergarteners!

We apologize for the lack of updates recently, but we figured we would let you know what we are working on in the classroom:

  • We have learned about Steelhead Fish! If you would like to look at the website at home that Ms. Carroll made for the lesson, here is the link! http://steelheadfishlesson.weebly.com/
  • We have learned about what life was like for Homesteaders a long time ago!
  • We have been working with the creatures, Mister Seven, Mister Eight, and Mister Nine. They would love it if you could bring some food labeled with their name on it.
  • We have learned to count by tens!
  • We are beginning to sound out words- starting with the beginning letter!
  • We are working on number partners up to nine. Ask your kindergartener, what's the number partners of 7? (Example: 5 and 2!)
  • We are beginning addition number sentences. (5 + 2 = 7)
  • We finished our healthy food unit!
  • We talked about what we are thankful for.
I'll tell you what, we are sure thankful for all the wonderful Kindergarteners in our class.

Some notes:
  • NO SCHOOL Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Have a lovely Thanksgiving Break!
  • We are sending home the Thursday Envelope today, and it includes a calendar for December!
  • PLEASE be practicing popcorn words with your kids!
And please, if you have any questions, please let us know!

Some Friendly Reminders!

Hello, Kindergarteners and their Families!

Just some friendly reminders...

  • TOMORROW is P.E. right off-the-bat in the morning! We do NOT use boots in the gym, so please bring an extra pair of gym shoes to change into when we get to school!
  • Please do not bring toys to class! They tend to get lost and taken by other kids, and we would rather avoid risking that!
Hope all is well. Enjoy the snow!

Ms. Paoli and Ms. Carroll
